Hide your Google+ profile from search engines

Posted by TechGeek on August 8, 2011

Google+ is yet another form of social networking project which allows you to connect and share with your friends and family. By default, your profile will appear in Google search results. This means everyone on the web can able to search or see your profile information through search engine. This may expose a risk to your personal information being leaked to everyone. If you don’t want your profile indexed by any search engine, you can change your profile settings at any time. To change the settings,

1)      Sign into your Google+ profile.

2)      Click on the profile tab located besides Google+ symbol.

3)      Click Edit Profile on the right side.

4)      On the About tab, click the ‘Search visibility’ option.

  • Check the button to Help others find my profile in search results to make your profile visible in search.
  • Uncheck Help others find my profile in search results if you don’t want search engines to index your profile.

5)      Click Save button.

Unchecking the “Search visibility” box will prevent your profile from being indexed by most search engines. However, your profile will still remain visible to anyone with your profile URL. Change your Google+ settings immediately to hide your information being viewed by others on the web.

Facebook CEO on the top of Google+ statistics

Posted by TechGeek on July 19, 2011

Last week, we talked about how to track your Google+ statistics. Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg was on the top of the list when Socialstatistics started the website. Socialstatistics website helps you to keep track of your Google+ account. It will lists out number of friends and number of followers of your profile. Somehow, the list was changed and few toppers including Mark Zuckerberg were disappeared from the list.

Magically, the list is now appeared once again including those. As said earlier, Mark Zuckerberg remains on the top of the list with 225k followers. Google CEO, Larry Page remains second on the list.

Do these stats indicate that Facebook is still more popular than Google+? Larry Page being as CEO of Google has only 124K followers on Google+ which is half of the Mark Zuckerberg followers.

Angry Google+ versus Facebook funny images

Posted by TechGeek on July 14, 2011

Lot of people has started using new Google+ social network. Many of them liked Google+ more than Facebook. The Google+ project makes sharing online more like sharing in real life. This gives a chance to creative people to make creative images of Google+. I have come across few images showing fight between Google+ and Facebook. The best image found was angry Google+ which was designed based on famous Angry Birds game.

Google+ bird is trying to kill other Google competitors. Surely it is really good one. The next image found is around Football players in which Google+ player kicks out Facebook player.

And the last image which I found shows fight between Google +1 and Facebook user. Slap!!!

The images are shared on the Google+ network by other users. If you come across any other funny images, please comment.
